Thannal Hand Sculpted Home

By Thannal on July 16, 2019 in Settlements and Transport

This 550 Sq Ft (52 Sq M) superadobe home we have done within one and a half month as an experiment with different methods is located in Tiruvannamalai. We made around 1000 earth bags using soil from the site. To produce 1000 bags it will take less than 15 days with 2 men and 2 women. It will cost less than baked bricks to do this 1.5 feet thick walls. We used different plaster, mortar paste mixes made out of Prickly pear juice, aloe vera, tamarind seed, Haritaki, sticky rice juice, tapioca starch, etc. and with a touch of tailored coconut leaf roof.
