Gene Campaign organizes Mahila Kissan Sammelan in Uttarakhand
GC organised a convention of women farmers in Uttarakhand on 20 March, 2015. The Sammelan was held in the village Simayal-Retha, near GC’s field station in village Orakhan situated in Ramgarh block of Nainital district. Over 600 women farmers from 50 villages in the Ramgarh, Dhari and Okhalkanda blocks of Nainital district participated in the Convention along with scientists, district officials, bankers, panchayat representatives, local political leaders, etc.
