Haryana gets its first village secretariat in Jind

Each village of Haryana will soon have its own secretariat which will ensure people get better access to various government schemes, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Sunday as he inaugurated the State’s first ‘village secretariat’ in Jind’s Haibatpur village.

He said the inauguration of the village secretariat in Haibatpur is the first step in this direction.

Mr. Khattar said all facilities would be made available for the people at village secretariat so that they don’t have to visit district headquarters to settle their issues and take benefits of government schemes.

“The village secretariat has been built on 8,500 square feet area at the cost of Rs. 48 lakh. It has 17 rooms with all modern amenities,” Mr. Khattar said.

Multiple services

The village secretariat has ‘Yogshala’, ‘Vyayamshala’, offices of sarpanch, patwari and village secretary, Kisan Sewa Kendra, post office, health centre, telephone exchange, aanganwadi centre, bank branch, ATM, election office, intelligence department office and a police help centre.

A ‘Common Service Centre’ has been set up in the secretariat where facilities of issuance of all kind of government certificates like domicile, caste certificate etc will be available.
