What kind of leadership do you think the world needs to help it heal and live in harmony?Dear Friend The world needs self-assured leaders whose assurance comes from an experience and understanding of the ‘other’. Leaders who do not see the world in fragments – but as one – who commit to building skills to navigate its paradoxes and respond with clarity and compassion. But where are the avenues for the Indian youth – from metropolitans to remote villages – to unite under one roof to work on personal development, systemic understanding, and build a collective leadership force?  For over a decade through 16 consistent editions, one of the longest-running rural immersion programs, Gramya Manthan, envisions self and – in the long term – systemic and structural development through equal and participative dialogue between urban and rural India. It is a 10-day transformative leadership development program, designed to introduce the Indian youth to three things – (1) a safer space for personal reflection & contemplative action (2) sustainable knowledge system of rural India (3) a movement for youth from all across the country committed to social change. 
 In its 17th Edition, Gramya Manthan takes the immersion to the last villages of India, in Kutch. Kutch inhabits one of the most unique & fragile ecosystems in the world – through its villages as a portal we shall dive into traditional crafts, local governance, and socio-economic-political systems. The journey will take us to some of the most groundbreaking grassroots organizations like Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan, Khamir, Gram Swaraj Sangh working in the fields of education, water conservation, political governance, gender, and cultural ecology.­

दुनिया को ऐसे आत्मविश्वासी नेताओं की ज़रूरत है, जिनका आत्मविश्वास अनुभव और ‘दूसरे’ की समझ से आता है। ऐसे नेता जो दुनिया को खंडित रूप में नहीं, बल्कि एक सम्पूर्ण रूप में देखते हैं, जो इसके विरोधाभासों को संबोधित करने की क्षमता विकसित करने और स्पष्टता और करुणा के साथ प्रतिक्रिया देने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं। लेकिन महानगरों से लेकर दूरदराज के गाँवों तक के युवा एक छत के नीचे आत्म-विकास, प्रणालीगत समझ और सामूहिक नेतृत्व के लिए एकजुट होने के अवसर कहाँ पा सकते हैं? एक दशक से अधिक समय से, 16 लगातार संस्करणों के माध्यम से ग्राम्य-मंथन, शहरी और ग्रामीण भारत के बीच समान और भागीदारीपूर्ण संवाद की ज़रूरत पर जोर देते हुए, व्यक्तिगत और अंततः प्रणालीगत तथा संरचनात्मक विकास का एक दृष्टिकोण पेश करता है। यह 10-दिवसीय रूपांतरकारी नेतृत्व विकास कार्यक्रम, भारतीय युवाओं को तीन चीज़ों से परिचित कराने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है – (1) व्यक्तिगत आत्मावलोकन एवं विचारशील कार्यवाही के लिए एक सुरक्षित स्थान (2) ग्रामीण भारत का सतत ज्ञान प्रणाली (3) सामाजिक परिवर्तन के लिए समर्पित देशभर के युवाओं के लिए एक आन्दोलन  ग्राम्य-मंथन के 17वें संस्करण में, हम इस बार कच्छ के आखिरी गाँवों की ओर यात्रा करेंगे। कच्छ दुनिया के सबसे अनोखे और नाजुक पारिस्थितिक तंत्रों में से एक है – इसके गाँवों के माध्यम से हम पारंपरिक शिल्प, स्थानीय शासन, और सामाजिक-आर्थिक-राजनीतिक प्रणालियों में गहराई तक जाएंगे। यह यात्रा हमें कुछ सबसे ज़मीनी संगठनों जैसे कच्छ महिला विकास संगठन, खमीर, ग्राम स्वराज संघ तक ले जाएगी, जो शिक्षा, जल संरक्षण, राजनीतिक शासन, जेंडर और सांस्कृतिक पारिस्थितिकी के क्षेत्रों में काम कर रहे हैं।
